Last weekend I went back to my hometown in Connecticut just to relax and hang out with my family. The last couple weeks at work have been beyond stressful and I felt a sudden urge to get out of the city and escape for a bit. I'm glad I did because I forgot how beautiful the foliage is this time of year in CT! The trees were stunning - so red that it looked like they were on fire. It made me think that I should explore the parks around the city before it's winter.
It was nice being home because I finally had a chance to go apple picking with Pat, my sister, and my dad, and then my mom and I used the apples (plus fresh cranberries from Cape Cod) to make Cranapple Butter. The butter is so delicious and tangy and I've been using it on my sandwiches all week.
Something else I've discovered recently is an app called Townske! It's a really cool website where users can make different city guides showcasing cool stuff to do. I've made a few already for brunch in Brooklyn, coffee in Manhattan, and a weekend in the Catskills. It's great because it makes me think thematically about my pictures, and it's also a cool tool to use when looking for things to do while exploring new places! I encourage everyone to check it out.
