Sometimes I feel like if I spend time relaxing at my apartment doing nothing, that I'm wasting time when I should be taking advantage of all the things the city has to offer. It's easy to feel restless here and for me to have a serious case of FOMO regularly. However, I have to remember that New York is my home and that I'm not on vacation so I don't need to cram in hundreds of activities while I'm not working. Working on this blog and baking a lot has helped me relax and take time to myself more often. It makes times like last weekend when my sister visited feel more special, as we spent the weekend checking out coffee and doughnut shops, heading over to Williamsburg, and exploring more of Brooklyn.
We had brunch at Rosarito's Fish Shack, which is slowly becoming my go-to spot in Williamsburg. I love the food and atmosphere, and I discover something new there each time I go. I also took Molly to Happy Bones, one of my favorite (and many others, according to Instagram) coffee places and then afterwards as we walked through the East Village we found the coolest heart wall. I'm looking forward to heading home to Connecticut for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, spending time with my family, and enjoying good food.
